[There's something a bit strange happening on the network today. It's possibly a video feed, but it keeps turning on and off and it's impossible to tell what's going on for the most part... and there's an odd, loud chewing sound.

...well, given Pokemon, it isn't too hard to figure out what's likely going on there, but eventually it seems as though the Gear is turned around enough in the unwitting cameramon's mouth that the surroundings can be made out, albeit with liberal application of shakycam.

It appears to be a bathhouse --- specifically the indoor section of the hot springs in Blackthorn, to anyone who's familiar --- and it's currently filled with what appear to be baby Tyrannosaurs, which would be super cute if it didn't appear that they were getting into the lockers and chewing on some poor sap's coat and various belongings and generally causing massive property damage.

...a fair number of them seem to be heading into the actual bath portion, too, and after several have wandered in, Kayneth storms out, clad in a towel and swim trunks, and freezes.

For he is the poor sap whose coat one of the Tyrunt is currently chewing on.

It's him.]

This... what is this!?

[...the gear drops and is now facing the ceiling, but audio can still be heard, along with the sound of someone heading over... towards the lockers.]

Don't think you're getting away with this, you little pests! By the time I'm done with you, you're going to wish ---!

[...and then the feed cuts off, as a tiny dinosaur has walked on the Gear.]

[Some time after that, Kayneth is sitting on a bench by the door, looking a bit forlornly outside. He is still wearing swim trunks and not about to brave a thunderstorm with hail in this sort of getup, so he just... waits for the storm to let up.

At least his Serperior's present, giving the other Tyrunt in the building nasty looks... and at least, quite surprisingly, his Gear still works. So... to pass the time...]

I do apologize for the scene earlier --- that was a bit of an embarrassment, really. Someone saw the dinosaurs out in the rain and decided that, yes, they absolutely needed to weather the storm in the hot springs.

And of course, all the employees are fine with it, because people in this world are just too kindhearted for their own good. What utter nonsense will tomorrow bring, I wonder...

The research that's been done suggests they weren't, but who knows. They could actually prove surprising in that regard.

... The one I got today just seems to like running into things and I can't decide if it's because he's not smart or just because he likes breaking things.

Sometimes it is, certainly, but once the damage has already been done there isn't really much of a point in it, is there?

And not many of the fossils actually do seem to be dinosaurs, do they...? There are a few, of course, but they're generally more out there than your Tyrannosaurs, really.

Anyway, based on my interactions with these things so far, I think it may be a little of Column A and a little of Column B.

I guess they're kind of like little kids... I've noticed that my Pokemon settle down more once they've evolved. Maybe it's the same with them, if they evolve?

Yeah. Maybe their typical dinosaurs are still alive or are fossilised, but in another region. It does make me think about how well those Pokemon manage to survive up until now or where they go, fossil-wise.

Well, everything has its weaknesses, after all. Dragon Pokemon tend to be individually strong, as well, even disregarding the strengths that come with the type's advantages and comparative lack of disadvantages... so it remains to be seen if these new Pokemon have solid representatives or if that's their only real drawing point.

Perhaps, but on the other hand, you'd want to avoid the same happening again, wouldn't you?

Well, it's a bit like growing up for them... at least, that's how it seemed for me. They've usually had more life experience in general by the time they do, so that may be a factor in and of itself.

I'd imagine it would be regional distribution, honestly... though, given that we've managed to get a fair population of long-dead Pokemon going, it's difficult to say whether or not they'd still be alive somewhere or not. It's probably not too different than how things turned out in our world, really.

Maybe. There's still a lot about Pokemon I don't know.

Well, that's for the future. I'm certain I can prepare for something similar, but this particular instance is something of a moot point.

At the very least, we're all in the same boat on that front.

...including the people who actually are native to here, which is a bit disheartening.

Honestly, at this point, it wouldn't surprise me, but I have absolutely no idea where I would've picked it up.

You have any ghost-types?

I have quite a few, but I really doubt they're responsible. They're whimsical, but none of them are foul-tempered enough for that.

Besides, I believe it actually started before I even got here, so there's no way any of them could be responsible.
