I must say, that was far less difficult than I expected it to be. Are all of the Gym Leaders so easily defeated? I will be sorely disappointed if I'm not forced to actually employ strategic thinking at least once.

[it was a bit rougher than it could have been, but that was only because Hypnosis kept failing to effect Falkner's Pokemon. his luck...]

Of course, I wouldn't bother posting to the network just to discuss my victory. [yes you would.] I would rather discuss the badges themselves-has anyone analyzed them to any extent? I've heard that they have several odd properties, which lead me to wonder if there was anything about their design that would warrant that.

What would be redundant about it?
Think of it in this manner.
Should one man from a different world look upon something, their opinion would differ from that of a man from a world that is completely abstract from their own.
That is to say those who may have investigated these badges already may think of them differently than you would.

I don't doubt that-in fact, I presume that's why I haven't heard about anyone taking a closer look at them beforehand. Of course, the fact remains that I, having only been here for several months, have had less opportunities to acquire the sort of equipment that would be necessary to study these sorts of things, whereas someone who has been here for over half a year may have been able to do so.

They have just about everything there.

That does seem to be what a majority of the individuals here spend their time on.

Most certainly. Admittedly, it's been somewhat difficult, given that none of the Pokemon I've been capturing seem to evolve into anything you can actually ride...

There are plenty of Pokemon that you can ride however.
Have you considered a Rapidash?
In fact, I know that I end up with Ponyta eggs often enough that I could pass one to you.

I have, actually. My traveling partner's Ponyta evolved quite recently, and it's proved quite useful. However, the fact that they take so long to evolve is somewhat... impractical.

They do not take that long in all honesty.
You just need to fight things that are more of a challenge.
