004 [VIDEO+ACTION FOR ROUTE 34]

I'm beginning to suspect this is all some sort of elaborate hallucination.

[The thought, while obviously coming from the man sitting half-submerged in the water and fishing on Route 34, is not directed at the camera. Is he even aware he's being filmed...? Anyway, it seems to be directed to the Xatu sitting next to him and staring off into the distance as Xatu are wont to do.

Really, the situation is even stranger given the fact that he seems to be wearing a hooded jacket in summer, though it should be noted that it's at least a kind of fashionable hooded jacket instead of some cheapo thing. Otherwise, we can presume that Kayneth would have spontaneously self-immolated from shame. It is kind of telling that you can't see his face, though... And... oh, did the Pokemon even respond?]

Yes, all of it. From the very beginning. How could it not be? From the omnipresent music to the... to the technicolor nonsensical magical beasts to the...

[...he trails off. Whoever (whatever?) is holding the camera moves closer, in a sort of 'you okay bro?' motion. Understandable, given that he doesn't sound good at all.]

This. -Don't you even start with that. Aren't you Pokemon supposed to be obedient? I will absolutely not hear anything about denial. It's the most reasonable explanation for all this.

...That has absolutely nothing to do with it at all. I took all necessary precautions when developing it. You're just proving my point, anyway, because how else would you know-

...

Why would you even think that was acceptable?!

[...after that outburst, he pretty obviously winces. There's a very concerned... giant... salamander... noise...? from behind the camera, which causes Kayneth to turn slightly and oh god are those facefins?]

...Salvador, put that down. You'll break it.

That... That might be because one of Gardevoir's specialty areas is being able to read the emotions of those around them... I suddenly feel like I might need to have a in depth talk with Miya in the near future once I'm not coughing up ice.

Honestly I would have be rather impressed with your empathy if you had cared considering this is my first time talking to you...

... well, you do look the type, I guess.

*loner and only looking out for number one that is...*
combat_butler: (It's a fact.)

The type who prefers to look out for yourself rather than get involved!

*at least he's honest???*
combat_butler: (He was unconcious when I got here!)

Oh? It's good that you can acknowledge it! Some people will spin around and get all denial if they get called on that, worried it'll ruin their image or something...

You never know! You might start traveling with someone and come to think of them as a good person to rely on in a pinch, or find that they're fun to just hang around with... Or just that they make a good back up in case a battle goes sour.
combat_butler: (Can't let them see the look on my face.)

... ah.

Y-Yeah, I can't exactly deny that one... I've never lost anyone while out traveling with them though. That would just result in a serious panic thinking they were lost...
combat_butler: (This really isn't worth it.)

Yeah... It's a pretty harsh way to find out when it's someone you talk to in person more than over the gear though. Kind of like getting slapped in the face by reality.
