011 [VIDEO/ACTION FOR AZALEA]
[It is hot as hell today, so Kayneth has taken it upon himself to relocate himself to his room in the local inn rather than in front of the gym. There's a pile of eggs and a nice, fancy-looking list of species and prices slightly out of focus-he'll get to that eventually, but first...! He'll hold up the Hive Badge, although he doesn't look particularly excited to be holding it.]
Apparently, it's customary to show off your badge when you've beaten a Gym Leader... but honestly, I don't think that win was even worth bragging about. The way Bugsy commanded his Pinsir was a complete joke and a terrible way to open the battle. I expected my strategy to be effective, but... I'm quite certain he actually forgot his Pokemon knew Faint Attack until several minutes in, so it was completely useless against Ghost Pokemon for several minutes. There was some challenge to it after that, but I'm quite certain that's because I was using reserve members of my team to make it a challenge.
Then again, I suppose that's only to be expected of a world where no one actually knows why Pokeballs, possibly the most important piece of technology in this world, actually works. You would think I'd be able to get a decent explanation on the workings of Pokeballs, but even the experts who make them are simply working on the fact that a particular set of components just happens to work. Ah, and I believe you would also think that people would bother committing the first individual to happen upon this technology to collective memory... but it seems as though that person has been lost to history, so there aren't even any notes to go on from them.
[He sighs in frustration. Could the people in this world be any more incompetent...]
Then again, I suppose that may as well be like asking who the first person was to discover fire, for all we know. Well, I suppose it's better to focus on the things that aren't ludicrously frustrating, so-
[and now he'll shift the focus to the eggs and the price list!]
Miss Megido asked me to breed two Archen for her and a friend, and, given that it's been over a year since I've been assigned as a breeder and I've been too busy attempting to fine-tune my team to experiment with it beforehand, I decided that now would be as good a time to begin experimenting as any. So, I have a decent variety of Pokemon eggs for what I presume to be reasonable prices... though, if you're willing to provide me some feedback on the Pokemon after they hatch, I'll be perfectly willing to lower them further. I've also trained all of the species included fairly extensively, so if you're unfamiliar with any of them I'll be perfectly willing to give you a good idea of what to expect from them.
[OOC: Badge and info on Pokeballs approved by the mods! Also, there are still plenty of eggs up for grabs-no Archen, Snivy, Cyndaquil, or Petilil slots are still open, unfortunately, but everything else is!]

[Of course, come the event Apollo might start thinking that his is the normal one after seeing how all of the other fossil Pokémon act...]
But... well, yes. Even when it seems like a species of Pokemon should have a very specific personality type, they tend to be far more varied than you'd think when you look at the individuals.
All animals have their own personalities, just like humans. Pokémon personalities seem to be a lot more varied among each kind of Pokémon than the personalities of other animals are. It makes them all interesting to talk to.
Though... do you have mostly Psychic-types, then?

I can understand being able to communicate with animals, but plants...?
[okay so maybe dryads are involved or plants work differently in his world, it's only slightly more ridiculous than a world where the dominant intelligent species is a horse]
Not exactly what anyone would consider conscious where I'm from.
They don't have the same kind of consciousness as animals, but they know what goes on near them. Their stories are a bunch of ideas and feelings and pictures all clumped together and you have to put them all in order to see what's happening. Animals think more like humans do.
I... see. Well, I suppose you would understand it better than I would, though it at least makes sense that they would be different from animals in that regard. Though... images? How do they even see...?
I'm not sure if "images" is the best word, but I don't know a better one. They don't have eyes to see, but they're aware of what's going on a short distance away.
Ah, that makes more sense. That's... certainly different, though I can't say I don't find it interesting.
Re: [Video]
It is interesting. [He smiles.] The old sequoia tree back home always has interesting stories if you go to it when you're troubled. The other trees aren't anywhere near as old as that one, but they have good stories too.
[...but he's still trying to figure out how all this even works.]
How do you feel about Grass Pokemon, then? I admit, they're not exactly equivalent, but are they similar in any way?
