[ Bolin gets his general directions from Korra, and he's pretty on-board to be lending a hand to a dude that (at the very least) wasn't a huge jerk to him or to her. Honestly, with guys like Bolin, that's often more than enough to work with.
His arrival is also pretty hard to miss if one happens to be in the area, all things considered. Or all sky bison considered, since Appa does have that way of making himself present with a thud and a grunt. Bolin makes a point of giving him a thorough scratch on the head before dismounting with about as much stealth and delicacy as his ride did tbh. ]
Helloooo! Korra said someone ordered a ride? [ Why is it so quiet by this river. ] She didn't mention any potential ambushes, so you know. Now would probably be a great time to mention those if there are any. No pressure, though!
[...well, there's something of a conundrum here, and it's that Kayneth really does not want to be seen as some sort of small, furry carnivore, but he absolutely does want to be rescued.
...so, well, it was warmer in his pack anyway and as long as he could be heard, he could just... direct things, he supposed...]
No, no ambushes whatsoever. I am absolutely here, you know, just...
[...he hunkers down a bit more.]
Take the bag, will you?
[...meanwhile Volumen Hydragyrm perks up and gets up to go say hi. It's a little sluggish because it's cold out, though!]
No problem! [ Bellboy by nature, unknowingly. Bolin hefts the bag over one shoulder, stretching a hand out for Volumen to sniff if it wants. He's not sure if it even can sniff, but whatever. ]
Did I, uh. Did I catch you at a bad time?
[ did korra send him out here to pick up a guy with stomach problems in the woods... ]
[ This explains so much more about why he's out here picking him up. Not that he was against picking him up in the first place. Just... adds a little clarity to the situation. ]
Oh. So are you like an animal, or did someone curse you to turn into a bag? Or are you... shorter and invisible.
[...he sounds a bit miffed and there's a bit of rustling in the bag, as though he's trying to bury himself in it and just die...]
...I was really hoping I could avoid admitting it, but it's the first thing. Admittedly, turning into a bag would be a bit more embarrassing, so I suppose I'm glad to know it really could be worse.
That's adorable. Which is weird to think about anything regarding a dude with a mercury cat from another world. But things fall where they will. ]
Well, I'm always happy to help someone get a positive outlook! And if it helps, it seems like this is happening all over the place. Just another one of those magic... things.
Oh, sure, sure. Might as well be comfortable. [ He starts heading back on over to Appa, giving him a rough scratch on the side before he starts climbing back up. ] So is it weird being an animal? You know, the extra legs and the fur? Or the... lack of legs and scales?
Honestly, the fur is probably the best part of it is the fur, given how cold it's been. Also, I killed a deer before this... mess happened, and I've at least been able to survive on that for much longer than I would have been able to as a human.
Huh. At least you had that on your side. I'm not a big surviving as an animal expert or anything, but it sounds like you lucked out a little! A little warmth for winter and an easier way to start traveling.
...that's a rather sunny way of thinking about it. I suppose it could always get worse, and I'm rather lucky that things got better for me before that could happen...
action; around that fluffy animal time

and, uh
...uh, can he disguise where his voice is coming from, his magic is wonky while he's a... small furry thing
...he'll try, oh my god will he try]
...something like that, yes.
[...oh god, no, it's really obvious that his voice is actually coming from the bag
let him die of shame right here]

[sigh.]
Well, it's a magic thing that's likely way easier to deal with in civilizations and places with warm blankets, so you take what you can get, really.
