17 [VIDEO] BACKDATED TO OCTOBER 24TH
[...so there was certainly a news broadcast featuring a certain Pokemon Professor just now, and while Kayneth usually doesn't mug for these sorts of things, he... goes with video in case he needs to show off something.
For now, though.
For now.
...on some level, he's thrilled, but on another level... the way he's drumming his fingers on his desk suggests some level of exasperation.]
Well, I believe that broadcast may have cleared up a mystery or two for those of us who have noticed some strange things about some of the new Pokemon --- namely, the Fairy type this professor was talking about. Some others and I have noticed that several Pokemon had an unusual amount of resistance to the Dragon type, and while I suppose it could have been some bizarrely common ability... well, as sudden as this seems, a whole new type suddenly appearing out of the ether makes more sense.
[he... sighs....... and then grabs the gear, turning it to show off three Pokemon. They happen to be a Carbink floating closer to the camera to try and mug a bit, distracting a bit from a spacey looking Swirlix and a shy looking Flabebe.]
...Dionisy, could you not...? Anyway, I've determined that these Pokemon seem as though they completely resist Dragon type moves, making them decent candidates for this new type. If you've noticed this particular quality from any of the Pokemon that you caught over the course of September, please tell me --- being able to catalog them would probably be useful for all of us.
[...something's still bothering him, though, as the Carbink continues to float around in the background and waggle their ears at the table...]
...Of course, that broadcast... brought up another question. Is anyone here familiar with the palace of Versailles? I'm really certain the Professor was just... standing in front of Versailles.
In... France.
[...he
sighs..............]
...likely, it's... some sort of equivalent, but... is there truly a place in this world that's just France...? Is there an equivalent to everything? Of course, I have no idea if there's any sort of point to speculating given that we'll never actually go there.
[A gloomy pause.]
Probably not, really.
For now, though.
For now.

...honestly, I'm still wondering if this is all some sort of cosmic joke, given that one of our new dragonslayers is some sort of cotton candy thing, but I suppose there are more ridiculous Pokemon out there.
And really, you likely would if you wanted to experience the versions of landmarks that weren't likely to be awful puns. I'm sure it's not that good of a substitute.
[This is probably the exact reason why Lance was so asspained about Fairy types possibly being a thing. Oh well, sucks for him!]
Is that right? Didn't you say the professor was standing in front of the very same landmark? Did it have major changes made to it that you could tell?
[THERE IS A LIMIT...]
The resemblance is uncanny, but I couldn't really list off the differences without having references for both. It's been some time since I've been to the actual Versailles, and we only got a glimpse of this world's version, unfortunately.
[Clearly that's all that matters. Flowers.]
So you're saying it was passable as the landmark itself, if you could at least identify it within a short window of time. [He shakes his head.] But I do understand. Though it may pass as it, it may not live up to the original in the details.
...You know, I'm rather curious now. What would be your hometown's landmark, if this world were to have an equivalent?
[as long as it's not the horrible barnacle thing.]
It probably has Pokemon all over it as the main difference. I'm not saying that's a completely awful thing, but... I can certainly imagine it being a bit silly.
There... would be a lot of options there, actually. London Bridge, the Clock Tower that houses Big Ben, Westminster Abbey, Buckingham Palace... there's really no shortage of them.
He nods along with Kayneth's list of landmarks.]
Would you care to describe your favorite of those? Names are one thing, but you must remember I've never been there.
And that's just what's available to the public.
Really. How fortunate that it happens to located where you live. It would certainly be one of my first stops if I ever visited, especially if it has a wide array of artifacts from around your world all in one place.
