Well, I believe that broadcast may have cleared up a mystery or two for those of us who have noticed some strange things about some of the new Pokemon --- namely, the Fairy type this professor was talking about. Some others and I have noticed that several Pokemon had an unusual amount of resistance to the Dragon type, and while I suppose it could have been some bizarrely common ability... well, as sudden as this seems, a whole new type suddenly appearing out of the ether makes more sense.

[he... sighs....... and then grabs the gear, turning it to show off three Pokemon. They happen to be a Carbink floating closer to the camera to try and mug a bit, distracting a bit from a spacey looking Swirlix and a shy looking Flabebe.]

...Dionisy, could you not...? Anyway, I've determined that these Pokemon seem as though they completely resist Dragon type moves, making them decent candidates for this new type. If you've noticed this particular quality from any of the Pokemon that you caught over the course of September, please tell me --- being able to catalog them would probably be useful for all of us.

[...something's still bothering him, though, as the Carbink continues to float around in the background and waggle their ears at the table...]

...Of course, that broadcast... brought up another question. Is anyone here familiar with the palace of Versailles? I'm really certain the Professor was just... standing in front of Versailles.

...likely, it's... some sort of equivalent, but... is there truly a place in this world that's just France...? Is there an equivalent to everything? Of course, I have no idea if there's any sort of point to speculating given that we'll never actually go there.

[A gloomy pause.]

Honestly, in a place like this, it's impossible to say what will happen next. I have to admit, an all expenses paid trip to a place that is essentially France wouldn't be all that bad.

It might be fun.

I wouldn't mind seeing more parts of this world as it is. Even if it'll look slightly off to you, you'd be able to explain things that are similar to your world wouldn't you?

No, I certainly agree. I would imagine some people have gotten tired of the scenery we're currently limited to, and it might be fun to have more gyms to challenge.

I haven't even challenged one gym yet. I'll need to change that if I'm going to explore other regions.

Have you challenged any gyms this year?

...You know, I know I've challenged Whitney and won, but I can't remember for the life of me if that was this year or last.

Shows you how memorable that was, I suppose. Honestly, I'd recommend getting Pokemon around their level instead of your main team, because otherwise there's no challenge to it at all.

You raise a good point. I'm not going to have fun if I immediately steamroll the battle.

Still, I should do it eventually I guess.

Pokemon battles when you're not facing one of the locals must be interesting if nothing else.

Oh, certainly. I've done it a few times before, and it's definitely been more entertaining than the locals. And... well, at the very least, Gym Leaders have been more enjoyable than the garden variety trainers, and you make a fair bit of money from it. That's worth it, I suppose.

Who have you challenged? There's quite a few of them, aren't there? Between the two regions anyway.

Violet's gonna be my first stop once I get a team together that won't immediately end the fight, I suppose. Might as well go in order.

Just the first three, really --- Violet, Azalea, and Goldenrod. I suppose it's a bit unfair to dismiss them when I've only challenged the easiest ones, but I don't see them getting much harder until I've beaten the first eight.

...thinking about it, I wonder if Falkner's at all challenging if you go through Kanto first... well, perhaps they'll accept challenges after you get both sets regardless of which set you went through first.

I'm sure there's some challenge involved, even if it only comes after getting all the badges.

It'd make sense if they all had a second team, wouldn't it? Something to bring out against really dedicated people.

I believe they do, actually... but only if you win all the badges in either the Kanto or Johto region. The gym leaders of region you haven't cleared will then use their fully trained second team.

Perhaps you and I should do this together. Challenging all of the gyms, I mean.

That way, we can compare notes and the like, and see about the challenging second teams the leaders have.

Hm... that might be interesting, actually. If nothing else, we could complain them if they end up thoroughly disappointing.

That sounds like a perfectly good plan to me!
