[It's not as though Kayneth is unfamiliar with what happens when someone disappears. Tokiomi's disappearance was... regrettable, but it wasn't anything like what was going on now. He couldn't count the amount of times he'd entered Sola's number into his PokeGear in the hopes that there had been some mistake, only to receive the same message over and over.

"Number not found." The very words were starting to get to him by this point

Perhaps if he hadn't slipped back into deliriousness he would have given up more quickly-or if he'd gotten an explanation beforehand, or if the situation were in any way different from how it was now.

Why was this happening? He couldn't simply chalk the whole situation up to being some sort of magic-induced hallucination anymore, as much as he wanted to. The week or so of clarity had broken him out of that mindset, so really, there was one conclusion to be drawn here.

He'd essentially been dumped out of a world that had only wanted him to succeed and into one that wanted nothing more than to see him suffer.

And really, there was nothing he could do about it except wait.

...though, really, getting a good read on exactly how grim his prospects were was probably a good idea.]

If someone disappears from this world, how likely is it that they will return? I've been informed that it's entirely possible that they will either remember their time here or they will have no recollection of it, as well. How many cases are there of the former versus the latter?

I haven't been here all that long, but I haven't seen anyone return. I don't know whether more people come back with their memories or without, but either way it would be good to see them again, right?

Well, yes, of course. I'm quite certain that most people that this has happened to wouldn't care either way so long as whoever left returned at some point. This is purely out of scientific curiosity, of course.

there have been more people coming back with their memories than there used to be, but it still isn't a lot.

It's hard to say. Some people've left and come back a bunch of times, but some have left and haven't come back since. Either way, you might be waiting a while before they do show up again if they do. [He sighs.] Most of the time they don't remember. Sometimes they don't even remember stuff that happened at home. Time's a weird thing here.

Those are better odds than the ones I've been given thus far. The odds for the former point are a bit more difficult to judge, though.

From what I've noticed, it is likely they'll return if others from their world are here, but it is much less likely they will remember the events that transpired when they were here. I've noticed some people return more than once with varying memories of this place.
